Intergenerational Project with Armagh Harps Friendly Club
10th Mar 2026
Some of our Primary 7 pupils were the lucky recipients of an invitation to join a meeting of Armagh Harps’ Friendly Club, a social group for those who are 50+, as part of their Intergenerational Project.
These delightful ladies provided an extremely warm welcome to our boys and girls who made the short trip up to Abbey Park for a morning filled with stories of their youth, questions and answers about their own school experiences, and of course, plenty of tea and buns.
Well done to our pupils who were so polite and engaging, asking interesting questions and doing our school proud. The back and forth all morning kept the ladies entertained.
It was a lovely bonus to meet with some of our former members of staff: Mrs Ann Darragh, Mrs Mary McElvanna, Mrs Anna McCabe, Mrs Carmel Kelly and Mrs Mary Morris. They loved the opportunity to reminisce about their days in St. Patrick's, working out connections between our boys and girls and their parents who may have been pupils in their time here.
This was a beautiful morning building links with different generations of our community. Thank you so much to Armagh Harps Friendly Club for welcoming us with open arms.
