Irish Dancers Showcase Their Gold!

19th Nov 2023
We knew we had some talented Irish dancers in our school, but the medals and trophies that have came into school so far this year have astounded us.

This theme continued over the past few weeks with even more success and silverware being shared.

Our Primary 3 pupil, Lucie, brought in her medals, including 1st Place in the Ulster Championship at U6 level! An incredible achievement in its own right, but even more so when she competed with her arm and hand in a cast due to a broken wrist sustained while dancing just weeks before. A real trooper with natural talent!

Our Primary 6 pupils, Caitlin and Emily, could be heard coming down the corridors and around corners with their trophies clanging together. They could have been doing with a few extra hands to hold all of their awards, such was their success at a recent Feis in County Tyrone - there was more gold than you'd find in a jewellery store!

Our Primary 7 pupils, Niamh and Aoibheann, continued their own personal recent success, competing fiercely in the Ulster Championships. Both girls, who wowed all pupils and staff with their performances in last year's St. Patrick's Day assembly, came in with their sashes and trophies following placing 5th in their respective sections in Donegal.

We are extremely proud of all of these girls who are clearly devoting so much of their free time outside school to training and practising their dancing. The effort it takes from these girls (and their parents!) is hugely admired.

Congratulations to all of them - we look forward to hearing of future success!
