January Awards Assemblies
11th Feb 2026
We have had an action-packed end to this half-term in school today, summed up beautifully in our awards assemblies this morning.
Recognising all of the effort, progress, learning and personal growth throughout the month of January, it was our absolute pleasure to listen to the success stories of the past 6 weeks. On the academic side, we heard all about what has been going on, e.g. creative writing featuring playscripts and instructional texts, huge leaps in times tables recall, amazing development in reading ability and comprehension, artistic creations and sporting prowess.
Our assemblies also gave us the opportunity to acknowledge those pupils who have embodied our set of school values, with January's focus value being "Family and Community." This tied in brilliantly with Children's Mental Health Week which we have been celebrating in school this week. The theme of the week is "This Is My Place," discussing the sense of belonging and comfort we hope to feel in our home, our school and our local community. These children were excellent examples of sharing a collective spirit of family and community, contributing to school life through their everyday words and actions.
This was such a lovely morning where anyone present could really feel the spirit and pride of being part of the St. Patrick's family. Mrs O'Shea made special mention of how pleasing it was to see the delight in the faces of the friends of the award winners, everything we love about our boys and girls. Well done to all award winners!
