Malachy McGeeney Cup Actions for Boys and Girls

Some of you may have looked outside this morning, heard the wind and seen the rain, and thought to yourselves, "Hmmm, not today." You know who didn't do that? Our fierce footballers who battled the elements as well as their opponents throughout a fantastic morning of football in Abbey Park.

Our boys and girls braved the conditions to put on some superb displays as we welcomed St. Moninna's Primary from Cloughoge, and St. Joseph's Primary from Bessbrook to Armagh for the Malachy McGeeney Cup.

Our girls won both of their games brilliantly and progress to the semi-final of the competition at a later date. Some excellent fielding, brave tackling and assured score-taking ensured two great wins.

Our boys won their first and drew their second game, which was unfortunately not enough to progress from the group, but they left it all on the field and put in their best performance of the year by far in a barn-storming second half comeback.

Thank you to St. Moninna's and St. Joseph's for making the trip down today, and thank you once again to Armagh Harps GFC for the use of their fantastic facilities - we were extremely glad of the 4G pitch and the shelter in the Jack Bratton Centre this morning!
