P7s go back in time

To help celebrate World Book Day 2023, the pupils in Mrs Perry’s, Mrs Bennett’s and Mr O’Hare’s P7 classes recently dressed up as characters from their class novel “Under the hawthorn tree” . The novel is set in 1847 Ireland just as the potato blight had hit the potato crop for the second time spelling disaster got the poorest families. Famine throughout Ireland followed leaving the poor starving. Other children in the year group also dressed up as their favourite characters from specific books. Hope you enjoy our photos.
