Primary 6 Armagh Townscape Heritage Etching

6th Jun 2022

Our Primary 6 pupils recently had the good fortune to be invited to the Amma Centre to participate in ABC Council’s Armagh City Townscape Heritage Etching Project.

The aim of the project is to celebrate Armagh beautiful Georgian architecture through a STEAM lesson, specifically Science and Art.

Led by Mary Murphy and Ann Darragh, the children had a wonderful day at the Amma Centre, reflecting upon the wonderful buildings around the town and drawing their own versions of their features. Then, using a combination of hot wax, a salt solution, electricity, ink rollers and a printing press, created their own fantastic prints of their chosen feature.

Thank you very much to Ciara MacNeice of ABC Council for organising, and a special thank you to Mary and Ann for a wonderful day learning plenty of new things!
