St. Patrick’s Achieve Autism Impact Award
5th Sep 2025
We are delighted to share that St Patrick’s Primary School has recently achieved Autism NI’s Impact Award for Education, demonstrating our commitment to inclusion for autistic and neurodivergent students, and their families.
As part of this accreditation, our staff received tailored training from Autism NI and implemented a bespoke action plan of adjustments across the school, to build a more inclusive environment.
Autism NI’s Director of Development, Christine Kearney, said, “Through their training and action plan, St. Patrick’s has implemented a range of practical and meaningful changes to promote accessibility. By achieving the Impact Award, they have shown a clear commitment to building an inclusive culture for their pupils and will strive to continue building positive accessible options for all in their school.”
Our Specific Provision for Learning (SPL) teacher, Mrs Oliver, said, "Thanks to the support from the Impact Award, our team feels more empowered and better prepared to make learning accessible. It’s no longer about just managing behaviour, but truly understanding and meeting our pupils where they are."
Congratulations to our Autism Champions Mrs Oliver, Ms Agnew and Mrs Smith for their work in leading our school to achieve this – another step along the path to providing the best learning experience for all in St. Patrick’s.
